A fabulous Fez Blue (Bleu de Fès) wall plate from Morocco - the colour developed to this intense blue after the 18th century and the dense, stylised floral field became increasingly popular. This is a vintage piece, and the colours and imagery used are centuries old. A nice antidote to the geometric forms normally seen (Safi).
Dimensions: height 6.5cm (when sitting on a table - footed base), diameter 38cm. Minor wear to rim. Maker's mark on base FES ACH. Ready to hang.
