This wonderful thatched cottage has lid/roof that lifts off (with a chimney pot) and the house below has pretty doors, windows and trees - all hand painted. Originally used as a butter dish or cheese cloche, perfect for presenting a baked camembert in. Alternatively it could be used for storing jewellery or trinkets in.
Dimensions: height 11cm approx. to top of chimney (with air hole for ventilation), diameter of dish 14cm, diameter of fixed plate below l9.5cm. Maker's mark on base and style no. 247. Some minor age marks and crazing to glaze consistent with age. Paint and glaze in excellent condition.
