This antique stoneware cake plate with pedestal base is a little timeworn, but still has a fabulous colour and pattern and is useful for staging wonderful cakes for special occasions/everyday! A super centrepiece on a tea or lunch table and the colours are spot on for the Platinum Jubilee - red, white and blue! If I see one, I have to rescue it .... historically these were used for cakes, bread or cheese in country kitchens.
Dimensions: height 7.5cm, diameter at rim 28cm. Please view all images for details of damage as these form part of description. Believed to be by BB Minton & Hollins New Stone (c. 1850) - maker's mark on base.
