A charming Victorian Sunderland Pottery Flow Blue Lustre ware Antique 'Epsom Cup' Jug. This depicts scenes of deer on each side - wonderfully decorative images with gilt detailing and hand painted designs. The ivy leaves, trees and pattern around footed base are all in relief and the handle is made in the form of a tree. The Epsom Cup is stamped into one side and this is believed to be a mid 19th century piece. (The races have been recorded since the 17th century).
Dimensions: height 19cm, diameter at rim 9.5cm, total width 17.5cm. Wear of glaze on handle and rim consistent with age. View images as these form part of description.
